Overall I enjoyed the book. The characters are stock 1950s variety (egg-head, jock, scientist, pretty girl) but that's part of the fun. The characters are taken on an adventure by John Martin, a time agent from the 1940s. The group shows up all over time in an effort to stop a Nazi plot. There are some interesting historical interactions and pop culture references. I could easily see this as an awesome 1950/60s American International Pictures sci-fi movie.

The Time Cruisers in The Exodus Trap is fun story and easy read. Mr. Frady might not be up for a Pulitzer Prize for this one, but it's a nice first effort that's worth a look. I hope Mr. Frady might revisit John Martin at a future date; or even better do more with Bastion Wolfe.

As a guy who grew up loving old science fiction movies like "The Time Machine", I've always had a deep appreciation for time-travel stories, especially ones that are done well, like "The Time Cruisers in the Exodus Trap". This book is more than just simple science fiction; it has it all Nazis, cowboys, and dinosaurs all weaved perfectly into a Biblical backdrop. It's an adventure story at heart but there are strong elements of action, faith, humor, and even a little romance.

The author has created a really good cast with a teenage genius and a football star (who are both in love with a blonde beauty), a professor, a Nazi villain named Bastian Wolfe, a Biblical figure I will leave unnamed, and science fiction's newest action hero, John Martin. Most of these characters are from the 1950s, and that is shown clearly through dialogue. The interactions between all the characters are great, and fit the time period very well. The language and the pop culture references used by the characters really make this feel like a classic black-and-white movie from the 1950s.

I like that this book follows a good plot but doesn't take itself too seriously. Enough humor was inserted into the story for me to have a ton of fun reading it. I really loved the plot twists. This is not a stereotypical sci-fi story by any means. The author did an excellent job of carefully implementing time-travel into the book. Paradoxes and the complexities of time-travel can be really confusing and challenging to present but the author made it all work.

The book's primary antagonist Bastian Wolfe had not only a cool name but a personality that made him interesting to read. He's an evil Nazi who never lies, and I won't give anything away but his origin is especially cool. His ongoing relationship with John Martin made me think of the classic rivalries between Superman and Lex Luthor, and Captain America and Red Skull.

It became easy to root for John Martin in his battles against Bastian Wolfe, as he was presented as a hero we can care about. What we don't have enough of in modern literature are characters that aren't full of flaws. Martin is an all-around "good" guy who does what he feels is right. There was a bit of mystery to the character as well, which I like because with Martin you don't have to know his whole back-story to understand him. His back-story is one thing I hope will be explored more in the sequel, which for me will be a must-buy.
The book is an entertaining read for a first outing. Many characters are of stock variety but do their part to move the plot along. The introduction of agent John Martin whisks them all away on a time traveling adventure to biblical times and beyond. The most interesting character to me however is the villainous Bastian Wolfe, a Nazi agent, who acts on Hitler's behalf. I look forward to watching Mr. Frady grow as a writer and for more adventures of the time traveling John Martin.
Great Idea, but so poorly written I had trouble finishing it. Whole pages I just skimmed while mumbling bla bla bla. It had a lot of potential, but the authors imagination was too shallow to carry it off. To be honest, I couldn't have written it any better, but I'm
a welder, a retired one at that. I read a hundred books a year, many free, first published, self published, and enjoy most of them.
